The Odisha Govt. has decided to include the transgender community under the Social Welfare Scheme. Under this scheme around 6000 transgender will get benefited by Rs. 500, Rs. 700 and Rs. 900 per month as a pension depending upon their age.
Odisha Govt. has announced a hike of Rs. 200 per month under Madhu Babu Pension Yojana. Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD)Minister Ashok Chandra Panda announced that transgender can also apply for a pension on the official website or Via Application Forms.
About MadhuBabu Pension Scheme
Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities has launched the Madhu Babu Pension Scheme by Odisha Government in January 2008 for the 1st time. This scheme is a merged between two pension schemes namely Revised Old Age Pension Rules, 1989 and Disability Pension Rules, 1985.
Old Age peoples or Widows or Transgender or PWD of Odisha state can apply for this scheme. Odisha State Govt. will provide the benefit in the form of a pension. This scheme is benefited to approx. 50 lakh applicants.
In 2008 January, the Odisha state government has introduced the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana in order to provide pensions to various categories. Madhu Babu Pension Yojana was officially launched by the Odisha Honorable Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Naveen Patnaik main objective behind launching this scheme is to provide financial support to the people. Till now, 47 lakh people have got benefited from this scheme. Government of Odisha is taking many steps so that Madhu Babu Pension Yojana gets accessible to more number of peoples.

Main Objective/Mission of Madhu Babu Pension Yojana
The main objective behind launching the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana is to provide empowerment to disabled persons, old age peoples, leprosy patients, widows, unmarried women. This scheme generally provides the financial support to such peoples in the form of pension.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced Madhu Babu Pension Yojana New List and offering financial support to 40,000 artists under Mukhya Mantri Kalakar Sahayata Yojana. The pension rate is Rs.300 per month up to the age 79 years and Rs.500 to 80 years and above age. According to the artist pension scheme launched in January of this year, artists who work to popularize and promote art and culture in Odisha are entitled to Rs 1,200 per month.

Transgender Madhu Babu Pension Yojana 2024
On July 2020, CM Naveen Patnaik has proposed the Madhu Babu Pension amount in order to provide benefit to the transgender community. Under Madhu Babu Pension scheme near about 5 thousand peoples of transgender community will be provided with financial support of Rs.500 to Rs.900.
According to SSEPD Minister Mr. Ashok Panda, the pension amount which will be given to the transgender community will depends on their age. Advance Pension For 1.5 Lakh Beneficiaries
Due to Covid-19 pandemic people are suffering from many financial problems. Keeping all this points in highlight, the Odisha CM decided to disburse 3 months of advanced pension directly into the beneficiary bank account of Madhu Babu Pension Scheme.
The advanced pension of the month June, July and August will be credited into the beneficiary account. Near about 1.5 lakh beneficiaries will get the advanced pension through E-payment. And those peoples who do not have any bank account, they will be given advanced pension at their home.
Concerned Collector has received direction by the SSEPD Department regarding disbursement of pension amount into the beneficiary bank account. Other than this Odisha Government is going to provide pension to all those children’s who have lost their parents due to Covid-19.
Due to this decision, the beneficiary will get financial support by the government from which they will be able to handle their day-to-day expensive and live peacefully.
Aadhaar Linking To Odisha Madhu Babu Pension Yojana
An important notification released by the Odisha State Govt. that those who have already got benefited from the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana must link their Aadhar card to the Social Security Account.
In order to avail more benefit from the scheme, the applicants must link their Aadhar Card Number to social security account by 2022. If you want to attach your Aadhar card to your pension, then submit a photocopy of your Aadhar Card while visiting the Municipal office or Gram Panchayat Office.
Before 15 March 2020 the applicant must link their Aadhar Card to pension. This is very important and necessary step that each individual who is availing this benefit must do it. In case , if you don’t attach Aadhar Card to your pension then you will not get the latest benefit. Aadhar Linking to Madhu Babu Pension Yojana is necessary and do as soon as possible.

The CM said to gather all the information of those women’s who became widow due to Covid-19. And those children’s who have lost their both parents due to covid-19.
And CM has said the concerned authorities, is to bring all these people who have lost the family members at the time of covid under social welfare scheme. This will help in benefiting the peoples who lost their family members.

As requested, the state government will purchase at Union government-level, whose cost will be borne by the state,” said the statement.
