Education plays a vital role in life and without education no one can achieve there dreams. It’s very necessary that we all must have a basic education. Keeping this thing in mind the Odisha Chief Minister Mr. Naveen Patnaik has introduced the Kalinga Sikhya Sathi Yojana on 27th June 2016.
This scheme is mainly introduced for students of Odisha who want to take the higher education. The Govt. of Odisha will provide the education loan up to Rs 10 Lakh at only 1% rate of interest. The remaining interest will be paid by the Higher Education Department of Odisha Government.
The scheme will helps to reduce the financial burden of education on students as well as parents. Under this scheme all courses like Law, Management, Engineering, Medical etc will be covered.
If you are taking loan up to Rs. 7.5 lakh then the repayment period of loan amount will be of 10 years, but in case you are taking loan of Rs. 10 Lakh then the repayment period will be of 15 Years. There are list of banks from where the students can take loans.

Modification In Interest Subvention Scheme for KSSY
On 10 August 2016 the higher education department has made a modification. In that it was stated that the scheme will be helpful for the students who want take a education loan for higher studies. In this scheme all courses are included like Management, Integrated Law, Engineering or Medical from any institution established by the acts of parliament or by any state legislature.
