West Bengal Swasthya Sathi Scheme 2024
The CM of West Bengal, Mamta Banerjee on Thursday announced a new Swasthya Sathi Health Scheme which will aim to give cashless treatment to the entire West Bengal population.
Many new schemes have been launched by the West Bengal CM in order to help and improve the living culture of the people, As per the Chief Minister’s announcement the New Scheme will be starting from 1st Dec 2020.
CM Mamta Banerjee has also announced that the entire Cashless Health Scheme fund will be given by the West Bengal Govt.

According to the latest update by the West Bengal state government, now, all the citizens of West Bengal can avail benefits of the scheme.
As per the reports, the annual cost of this project will be around Rs. 2000 crore. And the funds for the scheme are 100% provided by the West Bengal government. It shares no ties with the Central Government.

Benefits Of Swasthya Sathi Cashless Health Scheme 2024
Under the Cashless Health Scheme of West Bengal around 7.5 crore people will enroll. Each and every family of West Bengal will be covered under Swasthya Sathi Scheme.
Mamta Banerjee said that the Central Govt. gives only 60% for Ayushman Bharat Yojana, but in Swasthya Sathi Cashless Health Scheme 100% will be given by the State Govt.

Swasthya Sathi Scheme Thank You Letter
We all know that West Bengal State has implemented the West Bengal Duare Campaign. With the help of this campaign, people can also be registered for other govt. schemes.

Swasthya Sathi Scheme Rate Concerns
The West Bengal Govt. had launched the Swasthya Sathi Scheme Health Insurance in which they will provide up to Rs. 5 Lakh to all beneficiaries. A meeting was held between health officials and private hospitals on 27 Dec 2020. The private hospital representatives have discussed the treatment rates under the Swasthya Sathi Scheme.
According to the private representative, the treatment rate under Swasthya Sathi Scheme is very low. The west Bengal Govt. and Private healthcare service providers have discussed some important points regarding Health Insurance Scheme.
In the meeting, the private hospital raised some concerns regarding the treatment rates under Swasthya Sathi Scheme.
As the treatment rates are very low the private hospitals had requested the govt. to revise the rates.
They have also requested that no payment should be outstanding for months.

WB Cashless Health Scheme 2024 Objective
The main objective behind launching Swasthya Sathi Cashless Health Scheme is to provide cashless treatments to the people of West Bengal.
However, in the year 2016, the scheme was launched by the West Bengal CM which covers all the secondary and tertiary care of Rs. 5 Lakh per annum per family, but now the Scheme is updated. Now under Swastha Sathi Scheme all the residents of West Bengal will be covered and health card will be distributed.
Swasthya Sathi Smart Card
Swasthya Sathi Smart Card is now available to the senior-most female member of the family. This Smart Card will be used across any private or public govt. hospitals. Now there is no specific eligibility criteria needed since the scheme have been expanded to all families of West Bengal.
Around Rs. 2000 Crore the West Bengal Govt. have spent as an annual expenditure on Health Scheme. The Smart Card will help people to take any treatment without giving e single penny to the hospital authority.
Eligibility Criteria

More than 1500 impaneled hospitals are under Swasthya Sathi Scheme. The beneficiary can get treatment from any of these hospitals as per their choice. The details of hospitals will be available in the public domain. Each day the number of hospitals increases.
Claim Settlement
The Claim Settlement is of 30 days, otherwise, the interest will be paid as per the agreement.

The e-health records will be stored properly and will be accessed only through login credentials.

WB Swasthya Sathi Health Scheme Online Registration Process
Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamta Banerjee has launched the ” Swasthya Sathi Health Scheme” and it will cover the entire state population. On 1st Dec 2020 this scheme will be applicable and all the people of the state will be covered under this scheme.
For filling the application form the applicants will require to show documents like Aadhar Card, Voter ID Card or Ration Card. After submitting the application form the beneficiary will receive an SMS with ID-District Code / Serial Number.
The beneficiary will receive a Unique Registration Number or URN is generated and within a week smart card will be delivered. At District Kiosks Addition/ Correction / Deletion can be done. Enrollment of applicants will be done at the state Govt. organized outreach programs and camps ie., ” Duare Sarkar” or at your doorstep or at Mop-Up camps.

Cashless services mean that the patient does not have to pay any amount for taking the treatment from the hospital. The treatment will be completely cashless and paperless.
OPD is not covered, but if OPD is converted to IPD, all costs of treatment will be covered under this scheme.
Swasthya Sathi Scheme provides Rs. 200 as a transport allowance only per hospitalization and Rs.2000 in a policy year. But if you are taking treatment in any Govt. hospital through Swasthya Sathi Smart Card, you will get an additional transport allowance of Rs. 400 to Rs.700.
To take the treatment smart card is necessary. But in case if beneficiary forgets the smart card then he/she must inform the hospital authority that he/she will submit the smart card within 24 hours. Because the verification has to be done within 24 hours.
The beneficiary has to take only a smart card whenever they go to the hospital and any other govt. identity.
It is the responsibility of the hospital and insurance company/ SNA to provide alternative arrangements is the smart card reader is not working properly. Don’t deny the treatment in any case if the identity is not established.
There is no separate scheme or instructions for teachers or any other profession. If teachers are not part of any sponsored scheme or insurance then only they are eligible for WO Sathi Scheme.
A fingerprint of any family member can be used.
