Telangana State Home Minister has announced that the cars will be handed over the beneficiaries of the Drivers Empowerment Scheme. The beneficiary drivers has not to pay any kind of installment money in advance.
Driver Empowerment Programme aims to empower the SC, ST, BC, and Minority Drivers with Uber, Maruti Motors, and the State Bank of India (SBI). This includes the following aspects:
- Employment assistance through Uber
- Skill enhancement of drivers through Maruti Driving School (MDS)
- Financial help for vehicle purchasing through SBI
The main initiative of Telangana State behind launching this scheme is to give employment to the people of the state. Main Objective of Driver Empowerment Programme
The main objective of the Driver Empowerment Program is to provide subsidies to the drivers on the purchase of auto rickshaws. Telangana govt. will provide the subsidy of Rs. 1.5 lakh or 50% to the beneficiary. This scheme will help in developing employment opportunities for the citizens of the state.

Candidates must have passed at least the 8th standard. Also, the preference will be given to the students who have passed/failed in SSC examination.

- Registration: Applicants need to apply online at tsobmms.cgg.gov.in.
- District level selection in collaboration with District Collector, Dy. Transport Commissioner, DMWO, SBI, and Uber.
- Skill Enhancement training to selected driver by M/s RKS Motors.
- VC &MD: After completing training, a subsidy is released by the corporation through NEFT/ RTGS to SBI (participating bank). Who will in turn release the total cost of a vehicle to M/s RKS Motors along with bank and candidate share for release of vehicle.
- And finally, a four-wheeler is given to the beneficiary in a tie-up with uber.
